Barclay Tagg grew up in Lancaster PA, He is a former hunter-jumper and steeplechase jockey who is now known for his accomplishments in the thoroughbred racing industry. He joins the ranks of the celebrated few who can boast wins in the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness. He became the first trainer to win the Kentucky Derby (with Funny Cide) in his first attempt since Cam Gambolati's win with Spend A Buck in 1985.
Barclay, with the help of assistant trainer, Robin Smullen train and manage barns all year round in New York and Florida and maintain a barn full at the training center in Fair Hill, MD. You can see his winning entries at stakes races all along the east coast.
"We use Sore No More Horse Liniment as part of our daily program and have for years. All of our horses get a pre-race rubdown with Sore No More Horse Liniment to help warm up their muscles, especially in their hind end! It is an important part of our groom's routine. It helps us get to the Winner's Circle."
"We have never believed that fly horse sprays worked. If we were not given a bottle of the Ricochet Horse Spray, we probably never would have used it. It really works! We find that we can send Funny Cide out in the morning and he does not need anything for 3 or 4 sets. Other trainers have commented that their horses are getting eaten up while Funny Cide stands undisturbed by the bugs. So glad we tried it. It is the best horse spray we have ever used!" ...
